Mexican Tortilla Soup Mix

Our Mexican Tortilla Soup Mix is a convenient, shelf-stable, or dried blend blend designed to quickly create a south of the border style soup, often ready in 15-30 minutes. The mix combine dried red beans, dehydrated vegetables (onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, corn), and a blend of spices (chili powder, cumin, garlic, jalapeno. 

You will need:

5-1/2 cups water

1/2 cup Mexican blend shredded cheese

1 lb cooked chicken, diced

Directions: Add entire contents of the package to 5-1/2 cups of boiling water. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, add cooked meat and 1/2 cup of cheese to the soup pot. Bring to boil. Immediately reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for an additional 10 minutes. Serve with crumbled tortilla chips, a dollop of sour cream and slices of avocado for an even more authentic dish (optional).
